Paint Your Self- Portrait

Give yourself or someone special this amazing gift! Come paint your self-portrait in two sessions, while improving your skills and releasing your creative side in a new art studio in Salt Lake City!

Instructor Ty Cu (Master of Fine Arts, CalArts) will walk you through the process of creating your very own self-portrait, using both acrylic and oil paint. Beginning with acrylic paint in grey-scale, we'll focus on value, and the physics of light and shade, while making the image easier to draw by breaking it down into abstract geometric shapes.

Once the base image is dry, we will add color with oil paint, which can be worked slowly, blended easily, as well as wiped off. Your finished peice will be a mixed-media painting on a 16" x 20" canvas.

All paint, brushes, and canvases will be provided at the art studio. Please bring two printed pictures (the same image) of yourself that can be drawn on. If you forget to bring photos of yourself, we can print them from your phone in the studio. I recommend dressing in something you dont mind getting messy! Feel free to bring your own food and drinks in closed containers!
